Headshots

A headshot usually comprises the head and shoulders in the final image. The purpose of a headshot is to showcase, yes, your head, with most of the emphasis on your face. Two classifications of headshots are defined below.

Business Headshots

Portraits by Cris can do headshots both in studio and on location at your company office. In an age of business websites many companies are having their employees headshots done on a regular basis. It is common to photograph all employees in an office in an afternoon. Business, also known an Executive Headshots, can vary in lighting and posing technique. If the image will be used for the newspaper, it will need to be lit differently than if it were to be used in a high quality magazine or book. There are two types of business headshots, general, and the power headshot:

General

  • The general business headshot can be used for most purposes. The lighting is not as dramatic as the Power headshot, but is very pleasing.

Power

  • The power business headshot conveys a sense of strength. The lighting is dramatic with heavier shadows than the general headshot. This shot requires different lighting techniques for men and women.
The Portraits by Cris headshot package choices provide you with 2 to 4 images of your choice to so you can have one or more of each.

Actor/Actress Headshots

An Actor or Actress has to keep their headshots current. A simple change of hair style is a good reason to get new headshots. Portraits by Cris can get your headshots updated in no time. It is very important for you, the subject, to look like you. You do not want to hide facial features, and you don't want the image cropped to heavily. The people who are going to see these want to see everything. They don't want to see images where the cropping has taken away part of the head. When you are going for an actor headshot, make sure you tell the photographer before the appointment. This will help with set up and make your session much easier for all involved. There are two types of actor headshots, commercial, and theatrical:

Commercial Headshots

  • Smiling, happy, etc.. This shot is a commercial of you.

Theatrical Headshot

  • Dramatic and serious with no smiling.

You need to have both types of headshots in your portfolio. The Portraits by Cris headshot packages provide you with 2 to 4 images of your choice to accommodate this need. Make an appointment today! (404) 680-8384
